Chest Balm 50g

All natural and free from nasties, our Chest Balm is a warming and comforting vapour balm to help clear the airways when you’re feeling down with colds and flus.

We use pure Australian cold pressed virgin hemp seed oil in a mix with beeswax and Ricinus communis seed oil to reach just the right consistency for a smooth balm that melts easily over the skin. We then add a unique blend of Australian sourced Bluegum Eucalyptus oil, Spanish Rosemary oil and Clove bud oil, all of the purest quality to give that unique warming yet clearing effect.

Australian Bluegum oil is one of the highest carriers of cineole, the one we source is 80-85% cineole and gives that sinus clearing smell. These oils when vapourised in hot water or rubbed on to warm skin and inhaled, have been shown to act as a stimulant expectorant, mucolytic and decongestant.

Spanish Rosemary, in comparison to other forms of rosemary, has one of the highest camphorous compound ratios, acting as both an expectorant and cough suppressant as well as decongestant.

Clove bud oil contains 80-90% eugenol which is shown to be antimicrobial and anti-inflammatory in nature, as well as being mildly anaesthetic, helping to ease pain in the chest from repeated coughing.

With a mild essential oil blend and our pure base our Chest Balm can be applied directly to the skin and used on children from 12 months of age. It can be dissolved in hot water or in vapourisers in the bay (not the water) to give the whole room a pleasant smell that clears the chest and nose.
