It is closely related to squalene - a substance naturally produced by the oil glands in our skin, whose job it is to hydrate and maintain the skin barrier function. For this reason, squalane acts as a mimic to your skins natural oils, easily recognised by, and absorbed effortlessly into the skin cells, making it a highly effective moisturiser for all skin types.

Due to its powerful moisturizing properties, squalane oil is particularly useful for soothing dry and inflamed skin conditions such as dermatitis, psoriasis and eczema. But one of the great things about squalane oil is that it is also non-reactive and non-comedogenic — so even if you have sensitive skin or are prone to acne, it won’t irritate or clog pores, making it one of few oils that can be used on both dry and acne prone skin.

For beautifully nourished skin, with no greasy residue, massage a few drops over your face and neck for a light dewy look, or add more for intense hydration. We recommend using morning and night after your regular daily creams.

As well as being great for your skin, squalane oil can also be used to hydrate dry hair, nails and cuticles.

Whilst it is very unlikely to cause any irritation, as with any natural product, we always recommend to patch test first and discontinue use if irritation occurs.
